Personal Safety App Busby Partners with The Bikeability Trust
Busby, the personal safety app, has announced that it has partnered with The Bikeability Trust, who manage the Department for Transport’s flagship national cycle training programme for schoolchildren in England.
Through the partnership, Busby will train over 2000 Bikeability cycle instructors on how the app’s safety features, such as incident detection and automatic alerting of emergency contacts in the event they are unresponsive, may be used to increase safety of cyclists nationwide.
Bikeability cycle instructors will then be equipped to integrate education on Busby into their cycle training programmes, alongside teaching practical skills, developing greater understanding of how to cycle on today’s roads; and ensuring everyone has the confidence to cycle and enjoy this skill for life.
James Duffy, Co-Founder and Commercial Director of Busby, ‘With Busby’s origins firmly rooted in cycle safety, we’re thrilled to partner with this national cycle training programme in England. We’re looking forward to working closely with Bikeability’s dedicated instructors, not only providing training on making the most of Busby’s safety features but also gathering feedback from such a highly experienced group of cyclists’.
Emily Cherry, Executive Director at the Bikeability Trust, ‘Cycling is often about confidence and alongside training, technologies such as Busby’s incident detection offers peace of mind to cyclists. We’re looking forward to seeing our cycle instructors getting to grips with the app and enhancing their practical teaching experience with the best technological solutions available’.
